Minister Pandor to visit schools in Limpopo and North West provinces

The Minister of Education, Mrs Naledi Pandor, MP, will on Wednesday, 11 January 2006, visit inland schools at the beginning of the 2006 school term. The Minister’s visit will start at the Bokamoso High School in Seshego Zone 2, Limpopo province.
The Minister will be accompanied by the MEC for Education in Limpopo, Dr Aaron Motsoaledi, and the Director-General of the Education Department, Mr Duncan Hindle.
During the visit, the Minister will among others hold meetings with the school management team and the school governing body, address learners and teachers and inspect the school environment and surroundings.
The Minister will thereafter make unannounced visits to schools in the area.
Itinerary of the Minister:
* 07:55 - Minister arrives at Bokamoso High School, Seshego
* 08:00 - Minister addresses learners and teachers at Bokamoso
* 08:15 - Minister and entourage inspects school premises
* 08:35 - Joint meeting of the Minister with the school governing body and the school management team
* 09:05-11:45 - Minister’s surprise visit to schools.
North-West, 12 January 2006
On Thursday, 12 January, the Minister will continue with unannounced school visits in the Winterveldt area, North West Province. The media is requested to meet officials from the Ministry of Education at the Loate Police Station in Winterveldt before the visit to schools commences.
Itinerary of the Minister:
* 07:45 - Minister and entourage arrive at Loate Police Station
* 07:50 - The Minister and entourage visit the first school
* 08:50 - The Minister and entourage visits the second school
* 09:40 - The Minister and entourage visit the third school
* 10:30 - The Minister’s visit ends
