Government addresses the health and education problems in Nkandla, KwaZulu-Natal

The Minister of Health, Dr Manto Tshabalala-Msimang, KwaZulu-Natal Health MEC Pergy Nkonyeni and Education MEC Ina Cronje are to hold an Imbizo in Nkandla, KwaZulu-Natal tomorrow, 8 October, as part of Government Imbizo week.
The area is said to have challenges relating to education and health. These include overcrowded schools some of which do not have toilets, inaccessibility of health and social services.
The Department of Health has set aside a budget to deal with emergency sanitation problems and Minister Tshabalala-Msimang is expected to announce relief that will be provided to iNkandla in this regard.
The Department will also use this opportunity to highlight October as the Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
