Deputy President Zuma takes Imbizo to the Eastern Cape

Deputy President Jacob Zuma will on 9 and 10 June visit the people of the Eastern Cape as part of government’s public interaction programme, the Imbizo.
The Deputy President will visit the Amathole District Municipality on Thursday and the Chris Hani District Municipality on Friday. He will be accompanied by Housing Minister Lindiwe Sisulu, Eastern Cape Premier Nosimo Balindlela, MECs and representatives of local government.
The imbizo will provide an opportunity to assess the delivery of government services and to receive feedback from residents of the municipalities visited.
AMATHOLE DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY
On Thursday the 9th the Deputy President and his delegation will:
* Have discussions with the business community;
* Pay a courtesy call on King Maxhobayakhawuleza at Mngqesha Great Place;
* Visit the Keiskammahoek Dairy Project;
* Visit the Duncan Village Redevelopment Initiative project;
* Visit Mdansane Arts Centre; and
* Hold a public meeting with the residents of Zanyokwe.
CHRIS HANI DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY
On Friday the 10th the programme will be as follows:
* Courtesy call on King Matanzima at Qamata Great Place;
* Visit the Cofimvaba Sanitation Project;
* Visit the Qamata Irrigation Scheme; and
* Have an interactive session with members of the public at Ntshingeni Village in Qamata.
