MEC for Social Services and Population Development, Goolam Akharwaray, will be addressing the community of Rosedale, Upington, at an Imbizo tomorrow at 17:30 as part of the seventh national Imbizo Focus Week.

The Imbizo Focus Week, which commences tomorrow, runs until Wednesday, 13 April 2005. This period will focus on strengthening government systems to accelerate service delivery as outlined in the Programme of Action. The theme for the Imbizo Focus Week is "Imbizo: Building a South Africa that truly belongs to all".

Akharwaray will also attend an Imbizo in Colville on Monday, 11 April, at 17: 00 and on Thursday, 14 April, he will be in Britstown at another interdepartmental Imbizo. These and several other community meetings, which will be held in Kimberley, Marchand, Grootdrink, Williston, Steinkopf, Fraserburg, Poffadder, Brandvlei and Rietfontein, forms part of the Department of Social Services and Population Development’s Imbizo Focus Week programme.
