Media advisory: Minister Mpahlwa’s Imbizo focus on two IDZs in Eastern Cape

The Minister of Trade and Industry, Mandisi Mpahlwa, will on Friday and Saturday (8 and 9 April 2005) embark on Imbizos to the Eastern Cape where he will visit the Industrial Development Zones (IDZs) in East London and Port Elizabeth (Coega), respectively. The Minister will be accompanied by the MEC of Economic Affairs, Environment and Tourism, Mr Andre de Wet.
In line with the principles of Imbizo, an institution of participatory democracy, the Minister will also hold community meetings with mainly small business, especially local chambers and stakeholders, to discuss the dti products and services to the second economy.
The Imbizo meetings will be held at the community venues at the IDZs.

The Imbizo community meetings on Friday (East London IDZ) and Saturday (Coega IDZ) will afford ordinary members of the community to raise issues of service delivery with the Minister, as well as senior officials from provincial and local government.
