Minister Pandor to address the National Environmental Education Colloquium (NEEP-GET)

The Minister of Education, Ms Naledi Pandor, will tomorrow, 27 January 2005, address the National Environmental Education Colloquium at the Mamelodi Environmental Education Centre.

The National Environmental Education Project for General Education and Training (NEEP-GET) is a project of the Ministry of Education that supports teachers in the General Education and Training band in implementing environmental learning in schools. It seeks to ensure that environmental education is integrated into the curriculum throughout the GET band and to build capacity in the provinces to implement environmental learning in their schools.

The project has been instrumental in ensuring that environmental learning is included in the principles, learning outcomes, and assessment standards of the Revised National Curriculum Statement.

Guests invited include the Ambassador of Denmark to South Africa, His Excellency Torben Brylle.
