PRESIDENTIAL IMBIZO 30 SEPTEMBER - 2 OCTOBER 2004

President Thabo Mbeki will visit Mpumalanga province from 30 September - 2 October as part of the Imbizo - programme of interaction between government and the people. Imbizo provides an opportunity for communities to demonstrate practical partnerships with government in the quest for a better life. President Mbeki will be accompanied by Premier Thabang Makwetla and his executive during the visit.
The theme for the Imbizo Focus Week is "Imbizo: Building a People's Contract to built a Better South Africa and a Better World!" '
This will be the eighth presidential Imbizo following similar visits in Limpopo, Eastern Cape, Free State, Gauteng, North West, Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal.
Media is invited to accompany the President during the three days when he interacts with the people of Mpumalanga.
