All media are invited to the Identity Document Outreach Campaign in preparation for the next voter registration weekend.
The Minister of Home Affairs, Dr Mangosuthu Buthelezi, and the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Mrs Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, will distribute uncollected identity documents (IDs) to four households and take two ID applications in the process.
The ID Outreach Campaign will also be attended by Dr Brigalia Bam, Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (IEC) and Mr Jabu Mbalula, Chairperson of the National Youth Commission to encourage people to register on 24 and 25 January 2004.
On this day, the Soshanguve Department of Home Affairs Office will be opened from 08h00 until 16h00 and people will have an opportunity to apply for IDs, collect their IDs, apply for temporary identity certificates and apply for passports and delivery, applying for birth and death registration certificates, solemnising of marriages.
