EXTENSION OF APPEAL PERIOD REGARDING AUTHORISATION IN TERMS OF SECTION 22(3) OF ENVIRONMENT CONSERVATION ACT NO 73 OF 1989 TO CONSTRUCT THE N2 WILD COAST TOLL ROAD
The Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism received an application in terms of the environmental impact assessment (EIA) regulations to construct the N2 Wild Coast Toll Road.
The department authorised the application and issued a record of decision on 3 December 2003. Interested and affected parties had the opportunity to appeal within 30 days from the date on which these activities were authorised and records of decision issued. The closing date for the appeals was 1 January 2004.
The Minister has subsequently decided to grant a general extension of the 30-day appeal period by extending it with another 30 days. The extended appeal period will expire on 31 January 2004.
