MOOSA ANNOUNCES NEW CONSULTATIVE ADVISORY FORUM FOR MARINE LIVING RESOURCES
The Minister of Environmental Affairs and Tourism, Mohammed Valli Moosa, has announced the new Consultative Advisory Forum (CAF) for Marine Living Resources, following the approval of Cabinet. The CAF members will serve for a period of three years.
The Marine Living Resources Act (MLRA, Act No 18 of 1998) makes provision for a statutory body termed the Consultative Advisory Forum (CAF). The primary function of the Forum is to advise the Minister of Environmental Affairs and Tourism on fisheries, fisheries management and related matters.
The members of the Forum are:
1. Ms Zohra Ebrahim (Chairperson), CEO: Organisation Development Africa
2. Ms Nomvuyo Baba, Managing Director: Mfesane
3. Mr Cedric Coetzee, Regional Supervisor: Nature Conservation
4. Prof John Field, Faculty of Science, Zoology Department, University of Cape Town
5. Dr Anesh Govender, Senior Lecturer: Marine Biology Research Institute, University of Cape Town
6. Mr Mohammed Karaan, Lecturer: Department of Agricultural Economics, University of Stellenbosch
7. Mr Mw Zola Madyaka, East London
8. Ms Mandisa Motha, Corporate Affairs Manager: National Ports Authority
9. Mr Mkhuseli Jack, Port Elizabeth
10. Ms Khanyisile Mlambo, Standard Bank
11. Mr Booi Malghas, Kei Water Solutions cc, Consulting Hydrogeologist
