LIMPOPO CITIZENS SPEAK TO GOVERNMENT - IMBIZO FOCUS WEEK, 8 OCTOBER 2003
Once more, the Government continues to listen to its people. This will take place during a number of Imbizos that will take place throughout the Province.
Government will visit the people right at their places from 13 to 19 October 2003 where people will be given chance to raise their voices. This will happen in all the six districts of the Province.
The first District to be visited is Waterberg, where people will talk to their Government at Mokopane Education Multipurpose Centre on the 13th. The second district to be visited will be Bohlabela, which will be followed, by Vhembe and Capricorn on the 14th.
Bohlabela and Capricorn will again be visited on the 15th. Government will then proceed to Sekhukhune on the 16th. People of Lwamondo in Vhembe will also be visited on the 16th.
On the 17th, Government proceeds to Mopani while on the 18th the visit will be at Waterberg again.
Ministers visiting the Province
The Minister of Safety and Security, Mr. Charles Nqakula, will visit Mokopane Education Multipurpose Centre on October the 13th. Transport Minister Abdullah Omar will also visit Ximunge, Bohlabela on the 13th. DPSA Minister, Geraldine Moleketi will visit Limpopo on October 23rd. The minister will visit Masisi village in Vhembe.
Exco Meets the People
The Limpopo cabinet will, as part of its monthly outreach programme, visits the people of Mulenzhe, Vhembe on 22 October.
Background
This is the second Imbizo Focus Week of the year. The first was held in April. Areas visited in April include Mafefe, Magona and Hloho Ya Nku. The Deputy President, Honourable Jacob Zuma was in the Province during the April Imbizo.
Imbizo is an outreach programme where the National, Provincial and Local Government join hands in visiting the communities. The Provincial Government also has a monthly outreach programme called Exco Meets the People.
