MEC MOTSHEKGA DONATES TO A TEMBISA FAMILY TO BURY THEIR CHILD
Gauteng Social Services and Population Development MEC Angelina Motshekga has donated R3000 towards the burial of a destitute boy from Tembisa near Midrand.
Motshekga's spokesperson, Panyaza Lesufi, said the 10-year old Phineas Liba passed away about 10 days ago after kidney failure and dehydration at the Tembisa Hospital.
At the time of his death, the mentally handicapped boy was being cared for at Tumelo Home for the Mentally Disabled.
The boy's mother passed away in June this year and the father; Milton is unemployed and also mentally handicapped.
"The MEC is pleased to have made this donation to help the family bury the young boy," said Lesufi, adding that the funeral would be at the Mooifontein Cemetery in Tembisa today (September 18) at 11am.
