VISIT OF VICE-PRESIDENT ABUBAKAR OF NIGERIA
Deputy President Jacob Zuma will have a meeting with Vice-President Atiku Abubakar of the Federal Republic of Nigeria this evening, at 18h00 at the Deputy President's Highstead Residence, Cape Town.
The two principals will have discussions on a wide range of political, economic and social issues, aimed at strengthening relations between the two countries, and taking the South African-Nigerian Binational Commission forward.
The media is invited for a photo opportunity at 17h45 at Highstead, and are advised to arrive at 17h30 for security clearances on the estate.
The Deputy President's delegation comprises:
* Minister of Minerals and Energy, Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka
* Minister of Public Enterprises, Jeff Radebe
* High Commissioner of South Africa to Nigeria, Bangumzi Sifingo.
Vice-President Abubakar's delegation includes the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chief D Onyia, and the governor of Lagos State, B Tinubu.
Deputy President Zuma has invited Vice-President Abubakar to use the opportunity of his working visit to attend the 51st conference of the country's ruling party, the African National Congress, at Stellenbosch.
