EDUCATION MINISTER TO VISIT ATTERIDGEVILLE COMMUNITY ON WEDNESDAY TO LAUNCH THE AWARENESS CAMPAIGN ON SCHOOL NUTRITION PROGRAMME

As part of the Government's Imbizo Focus Week the Minister of Education Professor Kader Asmal, MP, and the Gauteng MEC for Education, Mr Ignatius Jacobs, will visit Banareng Primary School in Atteridgeville. During this visit the Minister will launch the Awareness Campaign on the School Nutrition Programme.

Banareng Primary School grows vegetables and provides hot meal for its learners. This, the ministry sees as a step in the right direction as learners get nutritious food.

During this visit, the Minister will engage and interact with parents, teachers, learners and the community of Atteridgeville. The community is expected to also raise its concerns on a number of issues that affect our education system such as: admission to school, school age, school fees, uniform, School Nutrition Programme, etc.
