A BETTER HEALTH SERVICE FOR FARM COMMUNITIES
As part of its effort to address the health needs of people living on farms, the department will hold a Farm Health Summit with key stakeholders to develop programmes that would ensure improvement in the quality of health service delivery in farm communities.
The Department of Health in the North West Province remains committed to ensuring greater access to health care for rural and other under-resourced areas.
A recent audit by the department revealed a need to urgently improve the quality and accessibility of quality health services to farming communities. Farm residents rely largely on mobile health units. The frequency of visits of these mobile clinics and inadequate staff remain a challenge facing the department in its quest to provide a better health service to our farm communities.
The summit will be held as follows:
Date: 5 April 2002 (Friday)
Time: 09h00
Venue: Bop Recording Studios (Mafikeng)
Media is invited to attend the summit.
