BROADER PLAN TO TAXI DEMOCRATISATION
As part of a broader plan to democratise the minibus taxi industry in the Western Cape, the Provincial Department of Transport has, together with the role-players in the industry rolled out a plan to hold Regional Council meetings to prepare for the Provincial Taxi Council meeting to be held on the 27-28 February 2002.
The first Regional Meeting will be held in Khayelitsha on Monday, 18 February 2002. The venue will be the New Hall at Site C and it starts at 08h00-13h00.
The highlight of the meeting will be the presence of the MEC of Transport and Public Works, Tasneem Essop to kick-start the regional meetings.
