WESTERN CAPE PREMIER MEETS NEWLY APPOINTED SPECIAL INVESTIGATING UNIT HEAD
Mr Willie Hofmeyr, the recently appointed Head of the Special Investigating Unit, held an introductory meeting with Premier Peter Marais today as part of his plan to meet with the Premiers of all nine provinces. The discussions were extremely positive and focused on issues of pro-active co-operation in the management of future cases.
The Western Cape Premier gave the ISU Head his personal assurance of his province's total commitment to clean administration and transparent government. The Unit was invited to work closely with the Office of the Premier as well as with internal legal and investigative bodies in the interest of rooting out corruption wherever it may occur and the speedy recovery of public funds.
