WESTERN CAPE SPORT AND RECREATION EXPRESSES ITS CONDOLENCES TO THE SPANNENBERG FAMILY
The Director of Sport and Recreation in the Western Cape, Advocate Rod Solomons, expressed his deep sadness and regret at the untimely and tragic death of national and international rugby referee, Carl Spannenberg.
Carl was well known to the Western Cape and South African sports fraternity as a respected rugby referee who came up through the ranks of non-racial sport to be counted as an icon at a very young age. His talents will be sorely missed.
The staff of the Department wishes to express their deepest sympathy and condolences to the Spannenberg family. Advocate Solomons has written a personal letter offering the prayers and support of the sports community.
