EDUCATION MINISTRY SUPPORTS GRADE 12 STUDENTS
The Ministry of Education wishes to assure grade 12 pupils that it will do everything in its power to ensure that exams go as planned. This is despite the leakage of some examination papers that have been uncovered by the Gauteng Department of Education. We also want to applaud the smooth and swift response with which the Gauteng Department of Education has been handling the situation.
The Ministry appeals to all South Africans to help in protecting the integrity of the exams. It is our responsibility as South Africans to stand together and isolate those corrupt individuals who are trying so hard to undermine the importance of education for the future prosperity of our nation. These criminals must understand that their corrupt and irresponsible actions will be subject to the full might of the law as the Ministry is determined to protect the best interests of our children.
A special appeal goes to parents and learners themselves to further help the Department in exposing those unscrupulous individuals. The Department is working closely with the police to uncover this syndicate.
The Minister urged learners to remain focused on their exams and not be distracted by the illegal actions of a few criminals. As was the case with the previous leak the problem has been contained.
