NATIONAL POLICY CONFERENCE ON TEACHER EDUCATION FROM OCTOBER 19 TO 21
The Chairman of the Human Sciences Research Council (HRSC), Professor Jakes Gerwel, will deliver the keynote address at the Department of Education (DoE) three-day conference on national policy on teacher education at Gallagher Estate from October 19 to 21.
Other speakers at the international conference will include the Minister of Education, Professor Kader Asmal, and Dame Patricia Collarbone, of the Institute of Education, at the University of London.
Professor J S Rajput, Director: National Council of Education Research and training, in India, is another overseas speaker at the conference.
Among the topics to be discussed at the conference include,
* Teacher Supply and Demand: Facts and Myths,
* Ensuring Relevant and High Quality Teacher Education, and
* Effective Models of teacher Education and Support.
