MEC FOR SOCIAL SERVICES AND POVERTY RELIEF, DAVID MALATSI, THANKS THREE COMPANIES FOR THEIR GENEROUS DONATION TO THE FLOOD VICTIMS

The devastation caused by the recent floods has disrupted the lives of more than 20 000 people on the Cape Flats. Minister David Malatsi, the Western Cape Minister of Social Services and Poverty Relief, has appealed to various organisations, members of the public and also large corporate, to generously donate items of food, clothing and blankets to the S A Red Cross and the Salvation Army. These two organisations are at the coal-face of relief efforts to help those families affected by the flooding.

Minister Malatsi: "It is with great pleasure and also enormous gratitude, that I would like to announce and thereafter thank, Nestle, Dairy Bell, Clover and Fair Cape. These three companies are producers of milk and milk products, and they have made extremely generous donations in kind, to the victims of the floods. Their details and donations are as follows:

* Clover: 1 200 litres of milk (value - R5 000.00)
Mr. Francois Kruger (950-7000/0824533066)

* Nestle: R12 000.00 of their products
Mr. Andre Brandt (951-2201)

* Dairy Belle: 500 x 2 litres of milk
Mr. Patric Jacobs (535-0440)

* Fair Cape: 320 x 500ml of Yoghurt
Mr. Louis Laubscher (972-1912)

I wish to express my sincere and deep appreciation to these companies for their commitment to helping the flood victims.
