TRC AMNESTY DECISION
The Truth and Reconciliation Commission announced that the Amnesty Committee granted amnesty to Mabe Mpongo for high treason, which arose from the abortive coup in Bophuthatswana on February 10, 1988 with the objective to overthrow the government of Lucas Mangope.
Having considered the matter, the incident constitutes an act associated with a political objective as envisaged by the Act and the application complies with all the requirements of the Act.
