WESTERN CAPE MEC OF ENVIRONMENTAL AND CULTURAL AFFAIRS, MR GLEN ADAMS, WILL ATTEND WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY: V&A WATERFRONT ENVIRONMENTAL EXHIBITION ON 5 JUNE 2001
The MEC of Environmental and Cultural Affairs, Mr Glen Adams, will be attending an exhibition that is being organised and funded by the Department of Environmental and Cultural Affairs and Sport at the V&A Waterfront. The aim of the exhibition is to celebrate World Environment Day and to make the public aware of the importance of recycling and to respect their environment. This exhibition coincides with the launch of the Western Cape Clean-up Operation which aims to educate the people of the Western Cape about cleaning up their environment.
This is also a way of showcasing the products of those individuals who have made a concerted effort to rid the environment of harmful waste materials and at the same time managed to create a lucrative income, not just for themselves, but also for others within those communities by creating jobs.

These are the broad topics that will be showcased on the day of the 5th of June. In all there will be eleven crafters on the day. The aim is to make people aware of the importance of recycling.
