AGRICULTURE AND LAND AFFAIRS MINISTER, MS THOKO DIDIZA, CONFIRMED THE APPOINTMENT OF DR M TAU-MZAMANE AS CEO OF THE AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH COUNCIL (ARC)
Agriculture and Land Affairs Minister, Ms Thoko Didiza, has confirmed that Cabinet has concurred with the decision of the Agricultural Research Council (ARC) Board to appoint Dr M Tau-Mzamane as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the ARC with effect from 1 April 2001.
Apart from her extensive educational background and research experience, Dr Mzamane has in the past occupied several managerial positions in the public service, among others, being:
* Deputy-Director General and Head of Science and Technology division of the National Department of Arts, Culture, Science and Technology;
* Deputy-Director General and Head of the Department of the Northern Province Department of Agriculture, Land and Environment Affairs; and
* She has extensive in international research management at international level.
Minister Didiza congratulated Dr Mzamane on her appointment and expressed confidence in her ability to lead in this critical agency. She added that agriculture will benefit from the wealth of experience she brings to the agricultural sector, as this will contribute to economic growth.
