STATE OF THE PROVINCE ADDRESS
It is once again that time of the year when the Province of the Eastern Cape will hear the most important policy statement pronounced by the Premier, Rev. M.A. Stofile on February 16, 2001.
The Office of the Premier - Communications Division, is organising a breakfast media and political analysts briefing, where they will have access to the speech early and also get an opportunity to ask questions from the Premier before going to the Legislature.
The aim of the briefing is to improve the quality of dialogue amongst key shapers of public opinion and to eliminate distortions that do not serve the overall interests of the Province.
As was done last year with the Budget Speech the following rules/guidelines will apply:
Participants arrive at 07h30 for 08h00 in the morning at the State House in Bisho.
Cell phones or other means of contacting the outside world would be collectively safely kept for the duration of the lockup.
All participants will be asked to respect the strict embargo that will be set for 10h15 if there are (unlikely) delays it would be up to delivery.
The speech will be live to the following Radio Stations:
1. SABC (Umhlobo Wenene)
2. CKI FM
3. All Community Radios in the Province
