Chris Hani Hospital being the highest with 19 babies born (14 boys and 5 girls), followed by Rahima Moosa with 14 babies (6 boys and 8 girls). George Mukhari (4 boys and 5 girls) and Charlotte Maxeke (6 boys and 3 girls) both had 9 deliveries each.
Yusuf Dadoo (5 boys and 2 girls) and Bertha Gxowa (3 boys and 4 girls) also had 7 babies each.

At Kalafong Hospital where the MEC showered newborns with gifts, 4 babies (3 boys and 1 girl) were born. The babies first Christmas presents include disposable nappies, baby shampoos, body lotion and other baby essentials.

“During this time of giving, we would like to share with the mothers in their joy as they bring new lives in this world especially on such a blessed day like Christmas. I would also like to thank the all healthcare workers for all their dedication and hard work in ensuring that babies are born safely and healthy.

MEC also congratulated the cleaners and the food department for a job well done in the hospital despite all the challenges that they face daily.
