President Zuma to meet with emergency workers

14 Mar 2010

President Jacob Zuma will today, Sunday 14 March, at 13h00 visit the Roodepoort Fire Station in Hodgson Street, in Roodepoort, to meet with emergency workers.

The president’s visit is part of his engagement with public sector workers to boost morale and ensure faster, caring and efficient service delivery. This particular visit follows the horrific attack on two female paramedics who were attending to a burned toddler at Durban Deep, West of Johannesburg last week.

President Zuma is concerned about the impact of the recent attacks on emergency workers on duty and wants to assure them of government’s support for their important and selfless work to the community.
The President will be accompanied by Gauteng Premier, Ms Nomvula Mokonyane.
