MEC Ivan Meyer to handover assistive devices

On Monday, 15 March 2010, the Western Cape MEC for Social Development, Dr Ivan Meyer, will be handing over assistive devices to the needy communities of Beaufort West, Oudtshoorn and George.

In 2009 the Taiwanese government presented the Department of Social Development with a donation of assistive devices (those are: crutches, wheelchairs, commodes, etc.).

As part of the distribution plan, needy individuals in the Beaufort West, Oudtshoorn and George areas have been identified, by the Department of Social Development, to whom these devices will be handed.

The details of the events are as follows:

  • Beaufort West

Venue: Association for Disabled People, off N1 Road, Bantom Street, Beaufort West
Time: 08h30 to 09h45

  • Oudtshoorn

Venue: Eljada Narsog (residential facility for persons with disabilities), Victoria Street, Oudtshoorn
Time: 12h30 to 13h45

  • George

Venue: Rosemoor old age home, Atakwa Street, Rosemoor, George
Time: 15h00 to 16h15
