President Jacob Zuma congratulates United States (US) President Barack Obama on his re-election

President Jacob Zuma has today, Wednesday, 7 November 2012, on behalf of the Government and the people of South Africa, congratulated President Obama on his re-election as President of the United States of America.

President Zuma said: "We value our relations with the United States and look forward to strengthening bilateral cooperation in the years to come."

President Zuma also reiterated that the United States has an important role to play in Africa's development. "South Africa is confident that the United States will continue to play a positive role in this regard", said the President.
