Launch of the Energy Sector Men's forum Charter

The Department of Energy genially invites members of the media to the launch of the Men’s forum Charter in the energy sector on 2 November 2012, at Freedom Park in Pretoria.

The purpose and intent of Men’s Forum is to promote and uphold the highest values of human dignity, equality and the advancement of human rights and freedoms of men by encouraging and mobilising men and boys to dedicate themselves to a non-discriminatory movement to revive fundamental human values, achieve respect and protection of human dignity and to restore the soul of the nation.

A men’s forum in the Energy Sector is established to restore the values of community, morality, compassion, respect, ethical conduct, human dignity and address all forms of abuse, discrimination against men in the work environment and the society. The event will also be used to create awareness on the International men’s day (celebration) that takes place annually every November.

The Deputy Minister of Energy, Ms Barbara Thomson will deliver the key note address and will be joined by CEO’s from state owned entities reporting to DoE, SASOL, ENGEN, BP, CHEVRON, ESKOM, SHELL, TOTAL, PetroSA and senior members from the department.
