State visit by the President of the Republic of Namibia

The President of the Republic of South Africa, His Excellency Mr Jacob Zuma, will receive the President of the Republic of Namibia, His Excellency Mr Hifikepunye Pohamba, on a State Visit to the Republic of South Africa.

All media are invited as follows:
Date: Tuesday, 6 November 2012
Venue: Tuynhuys, Cape Town

Time: 9h00 (Media to arrive at 7h30)
9h00 to 9h15: Welcome Ceremony
11h30 to 12h30: Signing Ceremony and Joint Press Conference (Media Centre, Tuynhuys)

Order of Proceedings:

Signing ceremony

  • Acting Chief of Protocol announces Agreements to be signed
  • Signatories take up their Designated Seats
  • Signing of an Agreement and Memoranda of Understanding
  • Signatories exchange documents in front of table 

Press conference 

  • Remarks by President Zuma (3 min)
  • Remarks by President Pohamba (3 min)
  • Q &A (2 questions per Principal) 

14h00 to 14h30: Address by President Pohamba to the Parliament of South Africa
