Premier Helen Zille to address matric valedictory service

18 Oct 2012

This afternoon, Thursday, 18 October 2012, Premier Helen Zille will address the Matric valedictory service at the top-performing Masibambane Secondary School in Kraaifontein. The school has been an exemplary case study in school outcomes turnaround, having increased its Matric pass percentage from 39% in 2003 to 92% in 2011.

Premier Zille has previously praised the school for its achievements as an "outlier" institution that defies and exceeds the norms of its environment. The school’s achievements have been attributed to dedicated leadership, creation and provision of opportunities, merit-based staff appointments and promotions and the pursuit of excellence.
