Gauteng mourns passing of the legendary actor Malefetsane Bookholane

17 Oct 2012

The Gauteng MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation Lebogang Maile has learned with sadness the passing of the legendary actor Malefetsane Bookholane.

Bra Fats, as he was affectionately known, made his mark by portraying Baba D in the SABC community health series Soul City. He was known to act in big screen movies such as The Wild Geese, in which he played alongside John Kani.

“On behalf of the Gauteng Provincial Government, we would like to send our heartfelt condolence to his family, friends and the arts fraternity at large in this moment of bereavement. We have lost a man who will be remembered for his talent and dedication,” said MEC Maile.
