Launch Safer Festive Season: Operation Duty Calls

The SAPS leadership - Minister of Police Mr Nathi Mthethwa, Deputy Minister of Police Magdeline Sotyu and the National Commissioner, General Riah Phiyega will officially launch the national operational plan aimed at making South Africa safer during the festive season. This crime prevention plan, Safer Festive Season: Operation Duty Calls has already been implemented in all nine provinces.

The formal launch will take place in two phases at Jane Furse, Limpopo. Firstly, the police management will interact with Jane Furse communities at the local mall encouraging the public to work with police in fighting crime. The final phase constitutes the formal proceedings, which will include a keynote address by the Minister, as well as messages of support by the Deputy Minister, the National Commissioner, the CPF and business.

Members of the media are invited to join the police delegation.
