Limpopo Cabinet embarks on a Public Participation Programme

27 Sep 2012

The Premier of Limpopo, Mr Cassel Mathale, will lead Members of the Executive Council (MECs) and Mayors to Extension 6 Sportground, Ward 1 Mookgopong Township, Mookgopong Municipality, as part of the monthly Public Participation Programme (PPP).

The event is scheduled to take place as follows:
Date: 28 September 2012
Venue: Extension 6 Sportground, Ward 1, Mookgopong Township, Mookgopong Municipality
Time: 09h00

The PPP is the initiative of government to enhance participatory democracy and it also provides members of the public with an opportunity to hold public representatives accountable on service delivery matters.

The Limpopo provincial government interacts with different communities on a monthly basis to, among others, entrench the spirit of working together between government and the people in resolving services delivery challenges.

"Government will continue to roll out Executive Council PPP in the province in a quest to create a better life for all. Therefore, we call upon our people, particularly in the rural areas, to support this initiative to ensure that we make the necessary impact in the fight against poverty and unemployment” said Premier Mathale.

On the day of the event, government institutions will exhibit and provide services on the spot. These institutions include Home Affairs, South African Social Security Agency (SASSA), South African Police Service (SAPS), State Owned Enterprises, districts and local Municipalities.
