Four people die in two separate accidents

Mpumalanga Community Safety, Security and Liaison MEC Vusi Shongwe is sending condolences to the families of four people whose lives were lost in two separate accidents in the province on Friday, 14 September 2012. The MEC hasalso wished those who were injured a speedy recovery.

The MEC has called on the road users to continue exercising due care on the road as the weather may affect their ability to drive safely.

Three people died after a Vaal Maseru bus that was travelling between Nelspruit and Malelane overturned on N4 near Nkomazi Toll Plaza. Six people were seriously injured while eight passengers sustained minor injuries. Those who were injured were treated on the scene.

One person was killed in an accident that happened towards Machadodorp on N4 when a bakkie collided with a truck. The driver of the bakkie died while one person sustained serious injuries.

The police are investigating cases of culpable homicide.
