Changes in programme of President Zuma

21 Aug 2012

The media is advised of changes in the public engagements diary of President Jacob Zuma due to the declaration of the mourning period to commemorate the compatriots who died violently in Marikana, North West and other areas. 

The following meetings have been postponed:

  • The official opening of the National House of Traditional Leaders which was to take place on 23 August 2012. Another date will be announced in due course.
  • Siyahlola Presidential Monitoring visit to the Western Cape province which was to take place in Cape Town on Friday, 24 August. A new date will be announced. 

Another engagement that President will no longer be able to attend is that of the Isizwe sabaThembu which will be held in Durban on Saturday, 25 August.
