Premier Modise meets Indian High Commissioner
7 Aug 2012 North West Premier Mme Thandi Modise is to host a courtesy visit by the Indian High Commissioner to South Africa, His Excellency Mr Virenra Gupta in Mahikeng this afternoon.
The aim of the visit is for the High Commissioner to introduce himself to the Premier new Indian High Commissioner and for the parties to discuss on the areas that can assist in strengthening the South Africa-Indian relations, including taking advantage of the Bricks agreements.
A number of bilateral agreements have been concluded between South Africa and India since the assumption of diplomatic relations in 1993 in diverse areas ranging from economic and commercial cooperation, defence, culture, health, human settlements, public administration, science and technology and education.
