Hon. Phillemon Mapulane sworn into Legislature

The North West Provincial Legislature Speaker, Hon. Supra Mahumapelo, sworn in Hon. Phillemon Mohlopi Mapulane as a new Member of the Provincial Legislature today, Tuesday, 17 July 2012.

Mr Boitumelo Tshwene has resigned as a Member of the Provincial Legislature, therefore leaving a vacant seat for the African National Congress.

Hon. Mapulane is filling the vacant seat for the ANC in the Legislature as he was the next person on the list submitted by the party (ANC). He said it is an honour to be given an opportunity and responsibility to serve in the Legislature.

“It is an honor for me to be given this responsibility. It is not every member of the ANC that gets a chance to serve at this level.

“I commit myself to execute the task given to me by the organisation I serve. The objective of the ANC is clearly stipulated in the ANC manifesto and therefore I commit myself to serve the people of the province as,” said Hon. Mapulane.

Hon. Mapulane is also serving in the Provincial Executive Committee of the ANC as a Treasurer.
