Suspect arrested for allegedly dumping school books

A 44 year old man has been arrested on a charge of malicious damage to property following the alleged disposal of almost 700 school books in the Giyani area just more than a week ago.

The school text books were found dumped in the Giyani area during the weekend of 29 June to 1 July. The books were Mathematics for Grade 8 and Numeracy in Sepedi for Grade 3. The suspect, a clerk at the Department of Education, is due to appear in the Giyani Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 10 July. Investigations are continuing.
