Premier Zille and Minister van Rensburg to visit Kayamandi

4 Jul 2012

For the first time ever, the Western Cape Government is making funds available for a pilot project for pet population management. This project, together with a dog and cat rabies vaccination campaign, will benefit both the pets and people of the community.

The public launch of this project will be held at the IKaya Trust Centre in Khayamandi, Stellenbosch on Monday 9 July 2012, with Premier Helen Zille, Mr Gerrit van Rensburg, Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development, and Mr Conrad Sidego, Mayor of Stellenbosch and the Ward Councillors.

Many Animal Welfare Organisations, veterinarians and academic institutions, as well as local and provincial government, and the local community are working together on the project. In this way, we can create a healthier and happier community for people and their pets better together.
