Deputy Minister Andries Nel, MP, addressing the graduation ceremony of Students from Alexandra on raising awareness about the constitution

Deputy Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, Mr Andries Nel, will deliver an address at the graduation ceremony of community members from the Alexandra Community that participated in a 5 month Constitutional Law and Human Rights Programme.

The purpose of this initiative by the Constitutional Court Clerks Alumni Association (CCCAA) is to raise awareness about the South African Constitution, to empower people to understand their rights and duties, to transfer skills, and to bring the Constitution closer to the communities.

The Programme included both practical and theoretical training there and covered a broad range of topics, including the Values of the Constitution, Access to Justice, Access to Information, provisions regarding Bail, and Crime and the Constitution.

Members of the Media are invited to the graduation ceremony, followed by lunch, where after there will be an opportunity to interact with the Deputy Minister as well as the graduates.
