MEC Radzilani takes crime prevention crusade to Malamule

20 Jun 2012

The MEC for Safety, Security and Liaison Me. Florence Radzilani tomorrow takes her Crime Awareness Campaign to Malamulele town, Thulamela local municipality in the Vhembe district.

MEC Radzilani will be accompanied by the Executive Mayor of Vhembe district municipality Mr Tshitereke Matibe, Mayor of Thulamela local municipality Me. Grace Mahosi, acting Head of Department Me. Nchabeng Tsebe and Limpopo SAPS Provincial Commissioner Lt-Gen TS Mpembe.

Traditional Leaders and Healers, Faith-Based Organisations, labour, business and other organs of civil society will also be in attendance.

The event takes place as follows:
Date: Thursday, 21 June 2012
Time: 10h00
Venue: Malamulele Boxing Club

The area of Malamulele is one of the crime hot spots in the province which may contribute to the high crime rate in the province. An array of incidents across crime categories has brought the area under the spotlight. These crime incidents range from ritual killings, house breakings, assaults, murder and rape.

The Crime Awareness Campaign is the culmination of extensive work in Malamulele to mobilise everybody behind the Provincial Crime Prevention Strategy and for everybody to do their bit in the fight against crime and corruption.

"The fight against crime starts with me," MEC Radzilani argues passionately. "If all of us don’t do crime, there will be no crime."
