EC Transport to host capacity building workshop for taxi industry
11 Jun 2012 In an effort to intensify the transformation agenda, the Eastern Cape Department of Transport will host a Taxi Industry Management Capacity Building Workshop at the Good News Christian Centre on 13 June 2012. The purpose of the workshop is to address issues of concern from the taxi industry which include, among others, the following:
- issuing of the operating licences/permits
- amendment of the National Land Transport Act, (NLTA No 5 of 2009) and
- issues of taxi subsidy at large.
The department has also invited various stakeholders like the Road Accident Fund, South African Revenue Service (SARS) and FNB. Media contact:
