North West to strive for excellence in service delivery

25 May 2012

The North West Provincial government is developing a model to resuscitate the Premier’s Excellence Awards in an effort to encourage and motivate service delivery teams across provincial departments to strive, to encourage them to improve service delivery through Batho Pele.

The re-launch of the awards was announced by Premier Mme Thandi Modise during her Policy Statement and Budget Speech delivered in the Provincial legislature on Thursday.

The long-term objective of the prestigious awards to be re-launched during the current financial year is to push departments towards achievement of the Province’s strategic goals and to reach a level that is on par with the best government services in the world.

Premier Modise has expressed optimism that the awards will serve to inspire individuals and service delivery teams within provincial departments to work together with communities as they strive to redouble their pace of delivery for the province to be repositioned as a centre of excellence.
