Gauteng employs doctors for critical positions

15 May 2012

The Gauteng Department Health is looking for health professionals to fill critical health professional posts at its hospitals in the province.

A total of seven doctors will start working at Far East Rand hospital on Monday next week. The department is currently recruiting doctors to fill critical posts at George Mukhari Academic, Steve Biko Academic and Mamelodi hospitals.

Despite a process of rationalising staff in other categories and cost containment measures, the department continues to assess critical staff shortages and to make necessary interventions.

An advertisement was placed in national newspapers two weeks ago inviting applications from health professional interested in working different hospitals in the province.

The department would like to express appreciation to it health professionals for the work they do to improve the quality of life of the people of Gauteng despite a national shortage of professionals in the country.
