Legislature Portfolio Committee goes on a project inspection tour

Gauteng MEC for Infrastructure Development, Mr Bheki Nkosi, will tomorrow, 11 May 2012 lead the 11 members of the Gauteng Legislature Infrastructure Development Portfolio Committee on a progress tour of the unique six month Alternative Construction Method, (ACM) at Olievenhoutbosch Primary School.

This project was inaugurated by Gauteng Premier, Ms Nomvula Mokonyane on 8 March 2012. A mere two months later, 40% of the project has been completed, this includes foundations, walls and part of the roof. The construction cost of this facility, which will be completed by July 2012, is significantly lower than conventional building methods and will cost R33 466 875.
