Public Service and Administration Deputy Minister Ayanda Dlodlo’s message of condolences on the passing of Minister Roy Padayachie

5 May 2012

Deputy Minister for the Public Service and Administration, Ms Ayanda Dlodlo has expressed her deepest heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the Honourable Minister for the Public Service and Administration, Mr Roy Padayachie, who passed away while on national duty in Ethiopia on Friday night.

She said Minister Padayachie was a committed patriot who died in the service of his country, and that in Minister Padayachie, she has lost a comrade.

Deputy Minister Dlodlo said Minister Padayachie understood the department and was very hands on. She said the Minister died without a scandal, a committed patriot and distinguished member of the African National Congress.

Ms Dlodlo said it is regrettable that the Minister died out of the country but praised him for dying in the line of duty, “he died with his boots on," Ms Dlodlo said.

Minister Padayachie had joined the Public Service and Administration Ministry in October last year. He was previously Minister of Communication and before that Deputy Minister for Public Service and Administration.
