National Council of Provinces (NCOP) to hold public meeting in Limpopo

18 Jan 2010

The National Council of Provinces (NCOP), a house of Parliament that represents provinces at national level, will hold a one day public meeting on Saturday, 23 January 2010 in the Greater Tubatsi (Burgersfort) Local Municipality, Praktiseer township.

The meeting will solicit inputs from community members that will influence the agenda for public hearings during the NCOP’s flagship programme of taking parliament to the people on 22 to 26 March 2010 in the same area.

The public meeting will provide an opportunity for the people, directly and through their public representatives, to raise issues they would like to bring to the attention of the NCOP. In return, the NCOP will facilitate the processing of the issues by the three spheres of government.

The meeting will enable the NCOP to ensure that the March programme responds to the expressed needs of the people.

Members of the media are also invited to attend the event as follows:

Venue: Sekhukhune FET College, Dr CN Phatudi Campus
Date: 23 January 2010
Time: 08h00 to 13h00
