Health Research Day to call for abstracts

The Free State Department of Health in collaboration with the University of the Free State will be hosting a Health Research Day provisionally on 7 June 2012.

The purpose is to disseminate widely, findings of health research being conducted in the Free State and facilitate linkages between researchers. Results from clinical research, public health research and monitoring and evaluation will be presented.

Individuals or organisations who would like to present their research are welcome to contact the department and to submit an abstract of the research project (published or unpublished)

The abstract should consist of the following format:

  • Title
  • Presented and co-authors
  • Organisational affiliation of presenter and co-authors
  • Introduction/Background
  • Methods/Results
  • Conclusion/Recommendations.

Research conducted in the following themes Maternal and Child Health, HIV/AIDS and TB, chronic diseases or strengthening the health system will be considered. Note that not all abstracts will be considered for verbal presentation.

Researchers can also submit their interest to do a poster presentation (1000 mm x 750 mm) by submitting their entries as well.

Please submit your abstract of 300 words by 3 May 2012.
